Manchester, UK — The All Progressives Congress (APC), United Manchester has celebrated the election of new leadership for the APC United Kingdom.
The APC UK Chapter successfully concluded its congress with the election of Mr. Tunde Doherty as the new Chairman, a move that has been met with enthusiasm from members of the party in the United Kingdom.
In a statement released by the Chairman of the Manchester chapter, Mr. David Adeoye, he expressed satisfaction with the makeup of the new cabinet, as two members from the Manchester chapter, Hon. Duro and Hon. Bimbo Fashanu, were elected as Financial Secretary and Assistant Treasurer, respectively. "We are thrilled to see our members take on these crucial roles. Their appointments reflect the hard work and dedication of our Manchester team," said David Akim Adeoye.
Adeoye also acknowledged the tireless efforts of long-standing members and welcomed the enthusiasm of newcomers who have joined over the past 14 years. He expressed optimism about the future, stating, "Manchester will only get better. We will grow from strength to strength, using this platform to fortify communal ties in the north and ensure that the APC in the diaspora is robustly supported and respected."
Over the past few months, APC Manchester has seen a surge in new memberships, supported by the dedication of its elders, strengthening the party in the United Kingdom, which will definitely have a positive effect in Nigeria.
Unveiling an ambitious agenda aimed at bolstering the party's influence and unity in Manchester, Adeoye, in line with the APC UK Chairman's call for unity, emphasized the need for healing and cooperation within the party. "The healing starts now. We encourage all members to provide feedback and ideas to enhance the APC UK, Manchester inclusive. Recognizing the diversity within our group, we aim to see the bigger picture and prioritize Manchester's progress."
Adeoye also spoke on plans by the Manchester chapter to establish a committee to identify necessary positions and organize a congress to democratically elect officers to fill them. This initiative aims to ensure comprehensive representation and participation, strengthening the party's structure and ensuring all voices are heard.
"We urge all members to commit to building a stronger 'Northern Powerhouse.' Together, we can create a foundation that not only unites us but also strengthens socio-cultural bonds and renews hope within our party," Adeoye concluded.
