REP. AGUNSOYE HANDS OVER FACILITATED 80-BED PRIMARY HEALTH CARE CENTRE TO LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT, GIVES ACCOUNT OF STEWARDSHIP

The Member House of Representatives Kosofe Federal constituency, Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye on Friday commissioned an 80-Bed ultramodern Primary Health Care Centre facilitated project at Emmanuel Nursery and Primary School, Ojota which he handed over to the Lagos State Government and also the use occasion to give report of his stewardship.

 
Rep. Agunsoye also on Friday commissioned a fully equipped ICT Centre at Isheri Grammar school; a Police Station at Isheri North, 10 blocks of classrooms and 14 Solar-powered borehole water systems.
 

The 80-Bed ultramodern Primary Health care centre was commissioned by the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu ably represented by the commissioner for Health Dr. Akin Abayomi. While 10 blocks of classrooms, 14 solar-powered borehole water systems, a Police Post and a fully equipped ICT centre were commissioned by Hon. Wahab Alawiye King, the Chairman SUBED; Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Mrs. Anike Adekanye, the Tutor General and Permanent Secretary Education District II respectively.
 

The Project Commissioning/Handover ceremony was graced by eminent personalities such as the Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Akin Abayomi; Hon. Wahab Alawiye King, Chairman SUBED; Mrs. Anike Adekanye, Tutor General/Permanent Secretary Education District II; Mr. Alajogun, Comptroller of Custom; Dr. Olusegun Babafemi, CMD Gbagada General Hospital, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, APC State Chairman and Prince Adebayo Busayo, Former Commissioner Lagos State Local Government Service Commission.
 

Others are Oba Isiaka Balogun Oyero, the Alaketu of Ketu; Oba Jamiu Ajibola Lawal, the Onishsangisha of Shangisha, Oba Jimoh Lamina of Agboyi II; Prince Fatai Gbadebo, Secretary to the Local Government Kosofe and

 

Rep Agunsoye while handing over the health facility to the Lagos State Government made a passionate plea to the Governor for the facility to be well-equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and medical staff.

 

Dr. Abayomi in his keynote address extolled Rep Rotimi Agunsoye for his scintillating performance as a legislator and the quality representation he provided to the people of Kosofe federal constituency in his 8 years tenure.

 

“You are definitely a Promise Keeper and the number of bills and motions you sponsored and moved on the floor of the House of Representatives, and their range of interest is amazing
 

“You are a source in the armoury of Government that doesn’t listen to criticisms. You follow your mind and how God speaks to you, and deliver to your constituency, your state and Nigeria

 

“I am delighted to honour you and to take over the building”: Dr. Abayomi remarked.

 

He assured Rep Agunsoye that the medical facility which he described as the first of its kind in Lagos State would be well-equipped and efficiently used in promoting a wellness strategy for the people of the constituency through a well- coordinated preventable medical intervention programme.

 

While noting that the health facility could also be used as General Hospital, he disclosed that a comprehensive assessment of the facility had already being carried out and a modification would be done where necessary.

 

And as a way of keeping the hospital busy, Dr. Abayomi promised to give 1000 vulnerable members of the constituency free Social Health Insurance Scheme for one year the moment the facility becomes operational.

 

He Said: “ What we are going to do once this facility becomes operational, we will come here with our Ilera Eko van and we will do a survey of your constituency and if we found 1000 members of your constituency we consider to be living under poverty line we will give them free Health Insurance Scheme for one year as a catalyst to ensure that this place becomes a busy health facility.”  

 

The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi praised Rep Agunsoye for bequeathing enduring legacy for the people of Kosofe Federal Constituency, stressing that he touched and empowered many people.

 

Recalling an empowerment programme where Rep Agunsoye organized had empowered 400 youths and women of his constituency with a sum of N100,000 each, he stated that he had always being proud of the performance of Rep Agunsoye and always used it as reference whenever he addressed the people in his constituency.

 

Hon. Ojelabi concluded by stating that the Lagos APC would never forget the remarkable work of Rep Agunsoye and, therefore, called on the leadership of the party in the federal constituency to come together and form a formidable team for the success and progress of the party.

 

“Do you think with what Agunsoye has done to the people of Kosofe Federal Constituency APC will forget him?

 

“For us that are leaders here, let’s come together, let’s unite, let’s have a very formidable team and work for the betterment of APC”: Ojelabi stated.

 

Earlier before the commissioning and handover of facilitated project to the Lagos state Government, Rep. Agunsoye had rendered his account of stewardship before a large gathering of eminent personalities and members of the All Progressives Congress.

 

The chairman house committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while reeling out his landmark achievement in 8 years as member House of Representatives, expressed his profound appreciation and gratitude to the leadership of the party, aides, friends, family, party members and entire constituents for their immense support.

 

Reading the reports of his scorecard tagged; “A Time And A Season For Everything: Stewardship – A sacred Trust”, Rep Agunsoye revealed that he sponsored and moved a total of 51 Bills and Motions on the floor of the house, facilitated 5 fully equipped ICT Centres, 12 blocks of classrooms, 25 solar-powered borehole water systems, 16 electricity transformers, a 80-bed ultramodern Primary Healthcare Centre, a Police Post, 3.5km Isheri North Road at OPIC Estate Isheri and solar-powered street lights at Peggy Osibogun street, Magodo GRA Phase .

 

He said aside these, he also organized a total of 20 different empowerment programmes, skill acquisition schemes and vocational trainings where constituents were given empowerment tools and financial grants and distributed over 150 mini buses to indigent constituents as parts of his youth empowerment programmes among other several welfare packages.
